Sustain Our Sacred Green Spaces
Join us in protecting, developing, and maintaining community gardens and sacred green spaces in Milwaukee!
Join us in sustaining our work to advance community gardens and sacred green spaces in Milwaukee. For over 45 years, community gardens have been an institution in Milwaukee, nourishing us - body, mind, and spirit. For 25 of those years The MKE Grows Garden Network, facilitated by Groundwork Milwaukee, has convened and built power with nearly 100 community gardens and their leaders to realize our vision of an environmentally healthy we city.
Through the network, Groundwork Milwaukee has distributed financial resources, led advocacy & partnership efforts, deployed volunteers, and provided essential services to our member gardens. Together, we’ve planted over 1,000 trees, grown hundreds of thousands of pounds of food, and stewarded over 30 acres of green space in our neighborhoods. Along the way, we’ve grown and built healthier and more resilient communities. We stay committed to advancing community gardens as community institutions for decades to come.
Today, we invite you to join our effort to sustain our sacred green spaces in Milwaukee!
